We were asked to print and distribute a consultation leaflet in a specific area in and around the South Portland Street area of Glasgow City Centre.
This consultation was asking people in the area to provide their views on walking and cycling connections in and around the town centre. The purpose of this is to make it easier for people of all ages and abilities to walk and cycle to local facilities.
The leaflet was printed on good quality 250gsm paper. We normally advise our clients to use this stock as the quality helps it to go through letterboxes without folding. It also has a professional, quality feel.
The fact that we specialise in distributing leaflets relating to public consultation made this an ideal job of us. Our systems, processes and reporting are ideally suited to jobs relating to PR and Public Information.
Our client provided us with a map showing the area where they wanted the leaflet to be distributed. We used our mapping software to recreate our client’s for our leaflet distributors. The fact that it was a pre-defined area made this a boundary distribution. This meant that our leaflet distributors had to stay within the boundary defined on the distribution map.
We used the results of our GPS tracking to check that out distributors stayed within the defined area. We also used this GPS information to ensure that all of the streets in the areas had been properly distributed to.
This GPS map was send to out client as part of our transparent reporting. We also provided our client with a list of the addresses where we could not deliver the leaflet to, along with the reason why we could not deliver it. This is a very important part of our normal leaflet distribution reporting. It is particularly important when working on public information jobs like this.
