We recently printed and distributed a newsletter which was produced by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to provide an update on the sale of the former Victoria Infirmary site which is located in the Southside of Glasgow.
The former Victoria Infirmary closed in May 2015 with many of the services being relocated to the New Victoria Infirmary which opened in 2009.
The 9.5 acre site currently contains a number of hospital buildings, one of which is B listed by Historic Scotland.
The newsletter was distributed to residents living in the vicinity of the hospital incorporating the G41 and G42 postcode districts, as shown in the area map. This newsletter gave people information relating to the sale of the site which has been on the market since October 2015 and has a closing date of 10th March 2016. The sale of the site will generate a capital for the NHS which they intend to invest in caring for patients and improving other facilities which are in need of modernisation.
Before distributing this newsletter, we printed it as a4 page A4 document (A3 folded in half). The client wanted the newsletter to have a quality feel so we printed it on 170gsm gloss paper.
Our client was very aware that the Victoria Infirmary has a special place in the lives of its neighbours and local community and served generations of Southsiders. Consequently they were very keen to ensure that the newsletter was distributed to everyone in the area with as few non-deliveries as possible since the area has a great many tenements which can be difficult to gain access to.
We delivered this newsletter successfully and kept the non-deliveries to a minimum by delivering to areas with tenements early while the service buttons are active. In situations where the service button didn’t work, we used the call buttons to ask for entry.
In addition, we revisited many of the areas where we could not deliver the newsletter a second time to increase the positive deliveries even more.
The Managing Director of 2112 Leaflet Distribution said “We were very pleased to have been asked to distribute this very important communication and I am proud that we went the extra mile to ensure that it was delivered to all of the people in the local community”.
