Having worked with St Aloysius College, an independent school that is located in Glasgow City Centre, for a number of years, we were pleased to have been asked to distribute leaflets promoting their 2018 open day.
We had recently run a full demographic analysis for them so we understood the makeup of their current customer base. This helped us to ensure that we were targeting the correct ‘audience’ with their leaflet. In other words, we were able to identify the areas where the people who were most like their existing ‘customers’ live.
The leaflets were distributed to areas that matched their demographic profile throughout the North and South sides of Glasgow, as well as various areas in South Lanarkshire. This ensured that the leaflets were delivered to the people who are most likely to consider sending their children to the school.
This not only helps increase the possibility of getting a good response, it also reduces the total costs as we only deliver the number of leaflets required to complete the targeted areas.
The fact that we were distributing their leaflets to very specific areas that were spread out over a fairly wide area of Glasgow and South Lanarkshire meant that we had to be very careful with the management of the leaflet distribution process. This meant that we had to keep careful records of which area was distributed to and when so that we could ensure that all of the target areas were distributed to and, where relevant, in the correct order.
In addition to having to be careful about the management of the distribution, we also had to complete the leaflet distribution in a fairly tight timescale as the job needed to be completed in good time before the open day. Our distributors worked hard to meet our client’s deadline and we were able to complete the job on time.
