The leaflet was promoting their wide range of gardening equipment ranging from lawn rakes to hedge trimmers to ride-on lawn mowers. The company is better know for its farm machinery and is always keen to promote the fact that they can also supply high quality gardening equipment for the home. The leaflet was well designed, being made to look like a shed and opening from the centre lie the doors opening.
The fact that the equipment that they sell is of a very high quality and, therefore, more expensive than the ‘standard’ equipment that is available in the large national outlets meant that we had to target very specific areas. In addition since most of the equipment is more appropriate for larger gardens, we were asked to focus on larger houses.
We used our generic demographic information, as well as our client’s local knowledge to identify the best areas in which to distribute their leaflets – the areas where people who would be most likely to buy them live.
The leaflets were distributed to a number of relevant areas including Bridge of Weir, Erskine, Paisley, as well as the new housing development in Bishopton. Distributing to new housing developments, especially very large ones such as that being built in Bishopton can be challenging as our distributors to not have any maps to follow.
Our GPS tracking system is useful in these circumstances since it effectively maps the streets that are it shown in our mapping software which enables is to create a map of the area for future use. The fact that we had distributed leaflets in this area before meant that we had a map to work from. The only issue was that new houses had been built in the area so our distributors had to find their way without the use of a map in some areas.
The leaflets were delivered into the relevant areas and our client was pleased with the level of coverage that we managed to achieve with the leaflets that they had printed.
