We were very pleased to continue our long-standing working relationship with Mackie Pharmacy. It was especially exciting to be involved with this project which was promoting their exciting new automated prescription collection point.
This machine as been installed in all of their shops, including Giffnock, Shawlands, Cardonald, Moodiesburn, Paisley and Bearsden/Drumchapel. We distributed leaflets to all of these areas.
Once their customers register for the service, prescriptions are picked up from their GP. They then receive a text message with a PIN number which they can use to collect their prescription from the automate collection point at their own convenience 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to this revolutionary new technology, the leaflet was also promoting their free delivery service.
The design of the leaflet was intended to to classy while giving it a bit of a futuristic feel. This was inspired by the hexagon shapes that can be seen on the machine. A separate leaflet was designed and printed for each shop so that the address could be shown, as well as listing the postcodes to which each shop delivers prescriptions to. The example shown below is for the Giffnock branch.
The leaflet was printed on high quality 350gsm card. It is quite unusual to have leaflets printed on such a heavy stock but our client wanted to ensure that it gave a quality feel to match the quality of the service that they provide. In addition, they wanted it to go through letterboxes without bending.
This was a large job, covering many areas. In addition, we were working to the postcode boundaries that were listed on each leaflet.
This meant that we had to manage the distribution very carefully to ensure that we distributed the correct leaflets to the correct areas, as well as ensuring that all of the streets were distributed to. We used our GPS tracking system to help us to keep track of what area the leaflets were distributed to and when.
This leaflet distribution coincided with a TV advertising campaign that our client was running at the time. Research has shown that running a leaflet distribution campaign along with TV advertising can be highly effective, helping improve the response rates from both. This is because TV can deliver an almost subliminal message to people watching. Receiving a leaflet will make the connection in the customer’s mind, thereby increasing their awareness and therefore improving response rates. This proved to be the case and out client was very pleased with the results that they obtained.
