The materials were distributed on behalf of Sustrans in conjunction with Glasgow City Council. This information related to the South City Way which is a project that is intended to deliver a safer, more attractive walking and cycle route between Queen’s Park and Glasgow City Centre.
As discussed, we distributed both a leaflet and a letter to residences in the area close to where the work are happening. The leaflet gave information about the SCW project while the letter explained how the works are being carried out and gave details of road works.
The letter was printed on 150 gsm, paper and was folded so that would be easier to handle while the leaflet was printed on heavier 250gsm paper.
Our client gave us a map of the area that they wanted the leaflet and letter distributed to so this was effectively a boundary distribution. This meant that we had to be careful to identify the streets that they wanted us to distribute to.
We used our mapping software to create a map of the area and our RAS system to work out how many houses were in the area. This allowed us to work out how many letters and leaflets to print, as well as how many people we would need to complete the distribution.
Our client gave us a fairly tight deadline as the wanted to give local residents a reasonable notice of the works.
