To improve our checking procedures and, therefore, the quality of our service, we have added an extra level of checking to our post-distribution procedures.
We have been using GPS tracking for a number of years to ensure that our leaflets distributors have delivered to all of the streets in the area that we agreed with the client.
While this process works well and is very useful on the rare occasions that there are any queries regarding our distribution, we felt that it would be useful to introduce another level of checking at the end of each day.
Up until now, we have relied on our distributors manually marking their distribution maps to show the streets that they have delivered the leaflets to. These maps are collated at the end of the day and our mapping software is updated to show the areas distributed.
We now overlay the GPS tracks on the manually completed map to ensure that there is a close match between the two. This can be seen in the above example where the distribution map is on the left and the same map with the GPS tracks overlaid on it is shown on the right.
